josie tang

Josie Tang (Jo) is a multidisciplinary artist, creative, and disabled advocate working across photography, styling, writing, and visual storytelling. They are based between Cornwall and London.
Alongside independent creative practice, they contribute to conversations and projects around accessibility and representation within arts and cultural spaces. Their work explores the relationship between creativity and limitation: how art is made alongside the shifting realities of disabled life.
Jo utilises social media as a platform to raise awareness and amplify marginalised voices. They are passionate about advocating for those living with chronic illnesses, especially invisible disabilities, drawing from their own lived experience. They love to style their mobility aids with their outfits, both for their own style, and to help normalise the use of mobility aids in young people. They have worked with brands such as Neo Walk, By Acre, Cool Crutches, Visible, and more.
They have worked as an event photographer in spaces that celebrate marginalised voices, such as the East and South East Asian Literary Festival with Foyles, the British East and South East Asian Network’s Flagship event in partnership with the British Library, the LiveND event in partnership with the Royal Albert Hall, and a range of authors working in neurodiversity and the climate space, including Alice Oseman, Chloe Hayden, Ellie Middleton, Mikaela Loach.
They have worked as a disability consultant for organisations such as Tilting the Lens for their major fashion retailer client in providing feedback on fashion for the disabled community. They are currently part of a Lived Experience Advisory Group for By Storm Beauty to help make beauty more accessible for all.
