Taking period era dress and de-constructing it to reveal a disabled body underneath, and in turn allowing the audience to confront the realities of a chronically ill form. Drawing inspiration from 17th and 18th century boning and re-framing it as bodily supports to turn the invisible, visible – in a beautiful and playful way. I would like to explore themes of vulnerability and power – both the lack of and in reclamation of the bodily-self.
